1 billion monthly active users marketers have to ask themselves, “Are we doing enough
on social messaging platforms?” And I think
the answer is clearly, “No.” WhatsApp has now
1 billion monthly active users. Facebook Messenger has almost
1 billion monthly active users. Then we have Viber, Snapchat, Skype and countless other ones. Marketers are clearly
doing way too little. Everyone is talking
about doing something on Snapchat. Snapchat has
maybe 200-300 million users. That’s all cute. But what is
your social messaging strategy? Social messaging platforms are probably
the most underutilized networks right now. They really allow
for a true one-on-one connection. That’s why in the near future commerce will be key with social networks,
adding things like payment services. That’s why customer
care will be the key, you have that
one-to-one component there. That’s why the chatting experiences that will be powered
by chatbots are also important, you’ll be able to book things
like travel insurance right there on the spot. So build
partnerships with these platforms to make that connection
with that user deeper. They’re the most underutilized
thing out there, do it now.
